With literally hundreds of research projects taking place in the Arctic, a system is needed to easily locate them for purposes of logistical cost-sharing, program manager oversight, scientific collaboration, and public outreach. We have developed several low-cost, easy-to-use virtual globe systems for displaying the locations of Arctic research projects, linking to more information on them, and searching for them. In this presentation, we will show how we have used EarthSLOT and Google Earth for this purpose, and how this model can be expanded to include nearly any field project database.
